Speaking Your Truth
Have you ever been silent in a room even though you had a lot of things to say but you feared being judged or felt that whatever you were going to say wouldn’t make sense?
Yesterday, I wrote about how the world appears to reward conformity over authenticity and often perceives authenticity as a weakness.
I promised to share some pro tips that can help you embrace your authenticity despite society’s pressures.

Have you ever been silent in a room even though you had a lot of things to say but you feared being judged or felt that whatever you were going to say wouldn’t make sense?
Do you silence your inner voice to maintain the status quo, even when it feels like a betrayal of your core values?
Do you say “It’s fine” even when you know it isn’t?
I have definitely been in these situations many times. The worst is that I leave the room or conversation ruminating over what I should have said and feeling angry with myself for staying silent.
But really who does that help?
In the context of authenticity, 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬, 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬, 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐯𝐮𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐫 𝐠𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐬 𝐪𝐮𝐨.
It's about aligning your inner world with your outer expression, staying true to your values, and communicating with integrity.
I know speaking your truth has been misconstrued as being disrespectful and confrontational. But that is far from it.
It's about respectfully sharing your reality, even when it differs from others. It’s about the courage to speak up even when you think what you want to say wouldn’t make sense.
So, how can you start embracing the practice of speaking your truth? 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝟓 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐥. 𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝.
Today, I challenge speak your truth without shame or fear of judgment.
Share your unique perspective in a meeting, even if it feels daunting, just do it! Have that honest conversation with a loved one, even if it means navigating uncharted territories. Write that blog post or social media update that authentically reflects your experiences, values, and beliefs.
You have a unique voice and a unique message for your generation, and you deserve to be heard. So, make sure you speak up, speak out, and speak your truth.
