My Summer Year!

𝓣𝓸𝓭𝓪𝔂 𝓲𝓼 𝓶𝔂 𝓫𝓲𝓻𝓽𝓱𝓭𝓪𝔂! 🎉 𝓨𝓪𝓪𝔂! 💃🏻

My life is proof that God exists, and those closest to me know that I am a miracle on two feet!

It’s still my Summer Year! As I shared previously, I started 2024 with a theme in mind, which is "Summer". To me, Summer represents a season of joy, warmth, freedom, fruitfulness, and transformation, among other things.

This Summer year is already a hit! 🤩 I am thankful for resilient resurgence, bold beginnings and big bounce-backs.

Reflecting on my journey so far, I thought I'd share 𝟏𝟒 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐈 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐲 𝟐𝟎-𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫-𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟:

1. Get comfortable stepping into uncertainty. Those who cannot endure a little discomfort for the sake of their future cannot go far.

2. Distinguish your failures from your identity. Just because you failed at something doesn’t mean you are a failure.

3. Get a PhD in yourself, you will need it for where you are going. Olubunmi, know thyself.

4. Show up authentically. Olubunmi, to thyself be true. Do not let the painful experiences you go through reconstruct your original design.

5. Run your race with focus. You are in competition with yourself alone. It’s a competition between who you are now vs who you can be.

6. I know you hold yourself to such high standards but don’t be too hard on yourself. Be more self-compassionate.

7. Guard your soul wells from stone slingers. If you allow stone slingers, they will fill your wells with stones and block the streams of life within you.

8. Trust your intuition! If something, someone, or someplace doesn't feel right, it probably isn't. Instead of rationalizing things and thinking you are the problem, run and don't look back!

9. You know what? Not everyone will like you, and that’s ok.

10. Your brilliance is expandable. Embrace a growth mindset and dedicate yourself to mastery.

11. According to Oprah Winfrey, excellence is the greatest deterrent to sexism, racism and all other 'isms'. So be excellent at what you do.

12. You deserve every seat you get at the table. Let no one (including yourself) make you feel otherwise.

13. Your dreams are valid, and you can be anything and everything you want to be. It’s as far as your eyes can see! Olubunmi be bold!

14. Your relationship with God is the most important relationship you will ever have. Nurture it, cherish it, and guard it. God will never fail you! For every storm ahead of you, He has prepared a way of escape.
